Selene POV
My face turned pale as I stared at him, shocked!
“W-What!” I stuttered blinking rapidly “You don’t mean that, do you?”
“It’s the full moon tomorrow and a perfect time for mating with an 80% chance of conception. If we do it, then you’ll be pregnant a fortnight from today. When we get back to Moon Whisper, we’ll get married and you’ll be coronated as my queen,” he explained staring at me steadily.
“A baby I swallowed hard; this wasn’t what I was expecting. I had thought he would ask that we leave Greyhound immediately. “Isn’t it too much?”
“Carrying my child is the only way I would know you’re serious about me. It’s a big sacrifice I know but
“Just ask for something else, Noah,” I tried to sound reasonable “I barely can manage with Maeve and Vina…and this is not me saying I won’t make you a father, it’s just that, this is not the right time to have a baby. There’s so much at stake now and having a child would be limiting,”.
“I’m asking you to get pregnant for another reason aside from making me a father, Selene,” he said quietly “First, it would be the only way I can get to claim you and put my mark on you. You cannot leave easily when you have a child for me,”.
“Please stop, Noah,” I sighed “Children are not meant to be pawns and using a child just to keep me
“It’s either that, Selene,” He shrugged “Or we forget everything, I’ll withdraw my proposal and you can keep staying here. Sleep over it, by tomorrow I would need a reply,” he said and brushed past me to the bathroom.
I sighed deeply and left his room and went back to mine. As I ushered myself in, I saw Xavier playing with the girls with them squealing happily. The girls were not always this happy to say the truth and I thought it was because they seemed more mature than their peers. Watching them now, my heart squeezed with fright…
I needed to be with a man… a powerful man at that and I couldn’t go back to Xavier either… he had already united with his mistress and I didn’t want to put my children through the pain I passed through. It was best they see Xavier as a shiny, good dad…
Sighing, I left the door and walked towards the closet. That was when they noticed my presence.
“Mom,” Vina called out for me with excitement “Come join in the fun,” she urged.
“I’ll pass dear,” I gave her a bright smile “You guys should just continue, okay?”
I ignored Xavier’s gaze and walked into the closet as the picture of him and Belinda kissing flitted into my mind. At first, I wanted to walk over to confront him but I had to force myself to leave, gritting my teeth at the pain and betrayal I felt.
I didn’t know seeing him with another woman still had a strong effect on me. It had to be a mate bond and not because I wanted to. In my head, I am done with Xavier. I heard him murmur to the girls to give him a minute and then heard him coming towards the closet.
I busied myself, flipping through my clothes and trying each of them without putting them on in front of the full-length mirror.
He hung at the door, leaning casually at the frame as if it was a normal thing for him to do.
“Hey,” he said, waving at me to get my attention. “How is it going?”
“Fine,” I replied coldly refusing to look at him.
“So, tomorrow is the full moon and I and the rest of the pack members would be having a run… the first in almost three years and I was wondering he paused and scratched his head “If you would run alongside me and the children,”.
“No!” I said immediately still not looking at him “It’s dangerous for people to know that the girls already have their wolves and it’s two days left before the end of our contract… no need to get the hopes of the people,”.
“C’mon, Selene,” he pushed away from the door and came to me “This is like a dream come true for me. To run alongside my wife and my children with the blessings of the full moon overhead…plus tomorrow is the lunar moon,”.
“No!” Xavier,” I brushed past him to get to where my shoes were “I already have indulged you with going out on a dinner date with you. I don’t want to run tomorrow. I’ll just stay back,”.
“Stop being unreasonable, Selene. I asked Noah already to run with us and he agreed. No one is going to be left here… I’ll not be settled to know that my wife and babies
“Stop calling me your wife, for moon’s sake!” I fired turning to him with rage “I am not your wife, Xavier… I am your baby mama. Tomorrow whatever bond that exists between us will be severed. How many times do I have to tell you this?”
“I think you’re going overboard again, Selene,” he looked calm “We agreed that you’re going to be my wife and Luna for three days. Why are you constantly fighting with me? It’s easy… after three days, you don’t have to put up with my shenanigans again,”.
“How about you, Xavier?” I marched over angrily to him “Have you been keeping your end of the bargain?”
He arched his brow at me with amusement “Yes,”.
“Yes?” I scoffed and pulled out my phone from the back of my pocket then scrolled rapidly through it before pointing to the picture I had captured of him locking lips with Belinda in front of his face “You are back with her again? Aren’t you?”
He collected my phone and squinted at the picture then looked up at me strangely “That’s not me,” he announced “There’s Belinda but the man there is not me,”.
I let out a small peal of laughter as I threw my hands up in the air feeling more agitated than I did moments ago. “Are you seriously going to look me in the face and lie?”
“After I left you and the kids in front of the Pack House, I went to the Beta quarters and have been with Lucius since then,”.
“Oh please!” I snatched the phone from his hand and flipped to the next picture then pointed it at him “Is that not Lucius? You went with him,”.
“That’s not Lucius,” he exhaled “You have no idea how much he hates Belinda… he won’t allow us to be in that position with him close by. The Chapter with Belinda has ended, Selene… I just want to be reunited with my family. That’s all,”.
“Are you seriously going to lie to my face?” My voice went a notch higher “You were kissing another woman at the mall and you expect me not to believe? Am I running mad or something? Is this a mirage?”

“As if they would tell me the truth,” I hissed.
“Lucius would… he likes you and would do anything for you. I swear… all these years, he kept your memory alive even when I didn’t remember you. He will tell you the truth,” he said.
“I don’t have time for this,” I grabbed the dress I had selected and the heels and started towards the bedroom when suddenly, he pulled me and held me by my shoulders.
“You always had a nasty temper,” he murmured gazing tenderly at me “And right now, the only thing I can think of, is making love to you in this mood,”.
“Let me go!” I struggled feebly against him as I saw desire flash through his eyes “The kids are in the bedroom, Xavier… Please,”.
“I love you, Selene… I swear and that wasn’t me at the mall. I wouldn’t do that to you after all these years. Uhm?”
“We can talk about it without getting handsy,” I tried to move away from his hold again but it was useless, he already had me pinned and wasn’t listening.
His hands combed through my hair, running down both sides of my face as his gaze on me remained tender. I shivered with delight… I could feel Bea my wolf wagging her tail. That was the oldest trick in the book to engage both your partner and their wolf at the same time.
His gaze strayed to my lips, and then he leaned forward and captured them.
Immediately, my hands wound around his neck… I was way too stimulated to not want to kiss him back. Our lips, and tongue, tangled delightfully as he cupped my backside pulling me to his raging desire.
We purred at the contact and then he pushed me to the edge of the counter in the room, making me lie half-body on it with my waist thrust in the air facing him. In one smooth move, He yanked down the pants I was swearing and bent long enough to run his tongue up and down my slit.
I buckled with delight, clasping his head tighter as he had me. After a while, he rose to his feet and I heard the zipper of his trousers open.
“The girls I managed through my lust-soaked brain.
“Girls!” he called out, his hands cupping my breast “Can you go out and find Beta Lucius for me. Tell him that I’m busy with mom and he should come back with both of you in thirty minutes,”.
“Are you alright, Daddy?” I heard Maeve’s voice “You sound strange,”.
“We’re just sorting out things here. Hurry up and go to Beta Lucius, okay?”
“Okay!” they chorused.
We waited for them to leave before he parted my folds and slipped into me. I moaned with delight, and arched my body to him, loving the way, his hands cupped my breast and his teeth, bit lightly on my shoulders.
I closed my eyes, surrendering to the pleasure when suddenly, the front door opened and someone called my name…
