Chapter 89: “Darren.”’ Belinda watched as Darren began packing up for her, her brow furrowing slightly. “Don’t bother. He’s no longer at the court.”’ Darren paused, his hands frozen over the prescription notes he was collecting for Belinda. He looked up, his expression apologetic. “Belinda, I had no idea you were on the phone with him, nor did I know about your divorce appointment today. If I had, I wouldn’t have”¦”’ He stopped, hesitated, then decisively added, “I’m going to see Kristopher at Cox Group.”’ “Darren.”’ As he made to leave, Belinda, massaging her tired temples, stopped him. “Don’t bother.”’ “But Belinda”¦”’ Darren’s face was etched with guilt. “You had a divorce appointment”¦ If you can’t divorce him because of me”¦”’ “It’s not about you.”’ Withdrawing her hand gently, Belinda offered him a wry smile. “He’s upset because I didn’t show up. No matter what, we’ll get divorced one day. And now, I’m sure he’s much more anxious for a divorce than I am.”’ Kristopher and Cathy’s engagement ceremony was just a week away, and he needed to be divorced before then. Cathy would never accept him being married while engaged to her. Belinda then turned to Darren with a polite smile. “Darren, you’ve been up all night because of me. You should head back and get some rest. Danilo will take over from here.”’ Darren furrowed his brows and cast a wary glance at Danilo, who was lounging in a chair nearby. “Is that alright?”’ is your storytelling hub “Danilo was trained by Dr. Reid. Concern etched on his face, he looked at Belinda earnestly. “Belinda, call me if you need anything. I’m heading home now.”’ With that, he draped his coat over his arm and departed. Once he was gone, Danilo shut the ward door and turned to Belinda, his curiosity piqued. “Is this man the reason you want a divorce?”’ “No,”’ she replied simply. “Then is it because you’re terminally ill and don’t want to burden your husband?”’ Danilo asked, his gaze intense. “No, I don’t think so,”’ Belinda said, shaking her head. Danilo’s brow furrowed in confusion. “Then why? Don’t tell me it’s because your husband is having an affair.”’ Observing Danilo’s eagerness for gossip, Belinda smiled slightly. “You’re close.”’ His eyes widened in astonishment. “But you’re so beautiful. How could your husband cheat on you?”’ “Marriage isn’t really about looks,”’ Belinda replied with a gentle smile. Danilo fell silent for a moment before nodding. “You’re right. Just yesterday, I saw a celebrity who was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance”¦ What was her name?”’ Belinda raised an eyebrow. “Cathy Miller?”’ “That’s her, yes!”’ Danilo exclaimed, his face lighting up. “I mean, she’s pretty ordinary, not stunning or anything. Definitely not as beautiful as you. Yet, her boyfriend, the CEO of that big multinational company, he’s extremely attentive towards her.”’ As he spoke, Danilo let out a sigh. “You’re right.
