Daniel rubbed his chin, wondering if Stanley would regret saying that once he got the full

Right then, he saw Eric’s hand drop away from the rosary bracelet.
Daniel froze.
I guess I was overthinking .
Still a bit hesitant, he asked, “Should we go help Mrs. Nolan?”
Eric didn’t look at him, voice cold. “I’m not in great shape to do that.”
Daniel pointed at himself, “How about I go instead?”

Some guys seem kind and pure on the outside but are totally heartless .
At the hospital entrance, Marvin hadn’t expected Alice to be this fierce.

He actually addressed her politely.

“That was a joke carlier,” Marvin shook his injured arm hanging in a sling, trying to look pitiful.
He chuckled. “I hope you’re not mad, Ms. Spencer.
“Mind if I call you Alice?”
His eyes looked sincere.
“Alice, I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. Please don’t be angry!
If his arm wasn’t hurt, he probably would’ve pressed his palms together in apology.
Alice frowned, staring at him like he was an idiot.

Not far away, a special “spectator” was watching.
Scott had come to orthopedics.
He had a small scrape from racing earlier and was there for treatment.
But knowing a friend was hospitalized here, he came to check on them.
That was when he overheard Marvin’s threats.
Before, if someone wanted to take down Alice, he wouldn’t have cared.
Because besides family ties, he didn’t feel connected to her.

So he pulled out his phone to call the police.

But before dialing 911, he heard fists hitting flesh.
He froze and looked again.
The skilled attackers were all on the ground.
Alice stood there, calm and unfazed–like these guys were nothing.
He was stunned by the scene.
Guess she didn’t need my help after all .
His expression got complicated again.
Maybe this forced marriage thing wasn’t so bad .

He cleared his throat before saying to Alice, “Mrs. Nolan, Mr. Eric is waiting for you.”
Alice was a bit surprised and glanced at the car across the street.
Even though the windows weren’t rolled up, she couldn’t see the man’s face inside at all .
