“You see, she’s been humiliated in both the IT department incident and Mr. Hawkin’s affair.
“If she doesn’t regain her dignity, I’m afraid she won’t be able to control you in the future.
“She knows how important that car is to you, so she deliberately made you compete for it- it’s a legal way to kill you!”
Daniel felt disgusted by Ruby’s viciousness.
Although Henry had warned them before, he always felt that they were family bound by blood.
Even if there really was internal strife, they should still consider family ties.
What a pity!
Previously, when Eric and Alice merely expressed their desire to take control, the people from the old mansion resorted to any means necessary.

Alice leaned against the nearby wall and spoke slowly.
“When does the race start?”
Daniel jumped in surprise. “Mrs. Nolan, when did you get here?”
Eric looked up at her. “She came here with me.”
He knew Alice had come out, but he didn’t avoid the topic in front of her.
He truly considered her one of his own.
Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and answered, “Tomorrow night.”
Eric narrowed his eyes. “You want to go?”
Alice smiled and shot back, “Why not?”
Daniel was visibly startled. “Mrs. Nolan, please don’t act impulsively.”
Car racing isn’t like regular driving.
And besides, the last time Alice drove, she had a car accident.

“Mr. Eric, please talk some sense into her.”
Eric’s fingers tapped on the armrest of the couch.
Then he slowly spoke, “Go to the garage.”
Daniel shot back, “What?!”
This couple had gone crazy–absolutely insane.
Late at night, the underground garage was lit up.
Alice stood in front of a row of cars, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
She stepped forward and caressed the car’s hood.
“This one looks good.”
Daniel brought over the car keys.
She opened the car door and got in.
She tested them one by one.
The engines roar like wild animals, deafening.
Finally, she stepped out of a silver–gray car and stood in front of it. “I want this one.”
Daniel looked completely shocked.
“Mr. Eric, this is the one you assembled yourself.”
When Eric was younger, he loved racing and had dozens of garages.
But this car had always been his favorite.
He had named it “Silverfox Phantom.”
Every part of the car had been handpicked by him.
Many components weren’t available domestically, so he flew abroad to purchase them.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say Eric had an emotional connection with “Silverfox
Phantom.”
For a moment, he couldn’t decide if Alice’s choice was bold or just crazy.

She had picked the best car, but surely Eric wouldn’t let her mess around with it.
“Mrs. Nolan, you should probably pick a different car”
Daniel reminded her gently.
But Eric walked to the side of the car, pointed at it, and said, “Then take good care of it
Daniel was stunned and shot back, “What?!”
His pupils widened in shock.
He seriously suspected that Eric had been possessed.
“No problem,” Alice replied.
Daniel felt like his world had turned upside down.
One concern settled, Alice yawned.
“Alright, I’m heading to bed. Good night.”
Eric’s tone was gentle. “Good night.”
Daniel pinched himself hard. “Mr. Eric, are you okay?”
He really thought Eric might be possessed.
The corner of Eric’s lips turned upward. “I’m fine.”
Daniel saw how happy he looked and suddenly realized something.
During the race, someone could sit in the passenger seat!

When Alice drove Daniel and Eric up to Azure Peak, the scene looked like a full–blown carnival.
Models stood on car roofs holding champagne glasses, waving energetically.
Some youngsters with dyed red hair were dancing to the music.
After asking around, they found out the situation.

John was a legend in the racing world.

So this time, everyone was placing bets on who would win.
Not far away, a betting booth had been set up.
