Rosa sighed softly as he glanced back worriedly before leaving.

Ordering the massacre of an entire family was sheer horror. Princess Madison shouldn’t dwell on the past and stir up trouble.
If she sought revenge, she should either join Germain or return to Fairfax to live her life.
Cassius lived in a two–storey house with a courtyard near the Davidson estate.
Usually, after dinner, Cassius’s mate would visit his mother–in–law for knitting, preparing clothes for the unborn child or toys for their two sons.
But tonight, she didn’t show up, and there were no sounds of the children playing.
Cassius’s mother, finding it odd, sent an omega to check.
The omega returned and said, “Cassius’s mate and the two children are gone.”
Cassius’s mother mused, “Perhaps she’s visiting neighbors. Quickly, you go to the Davidson estate, and I’ll check with the Crouse family next door.”
Yolanda, Crouse’s wife, lived next door.
Crouse assisted clan elders with affairs and had helped move things when Adelaide left the Bloodmoon Pack.
The omega hurried out, but both the Davidson’s and Crouses hadn’t seen Cassius’s family.
Upon hearing this, Crouse knew something was wrong.
Cassius’s mate usually stayed in Jefferson City and rarely visited the capital.
Now pregnant, she seldom went out, only visiting the Davidson estate or the Crouse residence.
Crouse instructed his wife to comfort Cassius’s parents while he took the clan’s youth to search.
After an hour–long fruitless search, they regrouped.
Unease crept into Crouse’s heart. Given the family’s reclusive nature, they likely hadn’t made enemies.
Moreover, reporting to the police at this hour might not yield quick results.
He decided to seek help from Valentin of the Frostfang Pack.
Valentin, after hearing the details, deemed the situation grave. “Continue searching. I’ll contact patrol teams and visit the Blackthorn Pack to inform Adelaide.”

“Let’s split up, Valentin said, rushing to the patrol teams first.
After arranging assistance, Valentin headed to the Blackthorn Pack.
Adelaide was still awake. Upon hearing Valentin had come, she quickly invited him in.
Learning of the Davidsons‘ disappearance, Adelaide recalled Cassius.
He lived in Jefferson but had visited the capital after the Frostfang Pack’s downfall.
Grief–stricken at the time, Adelaide only vaguely remembered his resemblance to his father.

Lance immediately ordered, “Mobilize a search party.”
Caldwell hurried in, saying, “There’s no need to send too many. Let Valentin and the Frostfang members handle it.”
Lance noticed Caldwell clutching a note–clearly, he knew the family’s whereabouts.
Valentin was taken aback. Why not send more people?
It was crucial to find them quickly.
He looked to Adelaide for guidance.
Before she could speak, Lance said, “Valentin, follow Caldwell’s lead. As for the Davidsons, simply tell them the Blackthorn Pack is searching too. If they’re not found by tomorrow, advise them to contact the police.”
Valentin agreed, “As you wish, Alpha Lance.”
No sooner had Valentin left than Paisley rushed in, her hair still damp from a bath.
Hearing that Valentin from the Frostfang Pack had come, she’d hurried over, worried something was amiss.
“What’s happened?” she asked.
Caldwell, holding the note, instructed Avery to guard outside.
He explained, “Our mole in Madison’s mansion reported that tonight, Captain Lacius of her wolf guard took several people out. Shortly after, they returned through the side door carrying two children and a pregnant woman to the basement dungeon.”
Unfamiliar with the details, Paisley was nonetheless impressed by Caldwell’s infiltration of Madison’s estate. “You’ve placed moles there? That’s impressive. Are they trusted by Madison?”
“Yes, they’re indispensable to her,” Caldwell said with a nod. “Even toilet cleaning is vital. Without them, things would be unbearable.”
